VISION
Our vision as an organisation is to see the youth of South Africa liberated from self or social imprisonment and poverty by enhancing their skills and talents through exposing them to adequate resources
MISSION
Our mission is to motivate the youth to see themselves out of their current situation and for them to know they are very much capable to make their lives a success out of the rural communities. We look to also encourage them to never forget their heritage and roots.

Growing up in the Eastern Cape in a town which is mainly surrounded by rural under developed communities, in which all those surrounding areas are dependent on the town of Mthatha. The Eastern Cape is one of the provinces in South Africa with quite a huge population of people living in or coming from the rural communities.

Although the province is promising in terms of the development of its towns and cities, development is still at a snail’s pace in these rural communities. With all this slow development, the education system is affected where there are not enough facilities for teaching and learning to take place, as such, the Province’s Matric class is listed as one of the underperforming classes as to other provinces in the country.
As the growing youth of Eastern Cape that has lived through with the poor and slow development, we came up with the idea of starting an organisation set to empower, encourage and to motivate those that come after us, the ones that are still in primary still going into high school and the ones already in high school but on their way into varsity.

An organisation started by the youth born and bred in the Eastern Cape to reach out and empower the underprivileged students not only in Eastern Cape but students across South Africa, African Born Child came to life.

As an organisation we look to motivate students to keep on dreaming because there is no dream too little or too small, the fact that someone can dream about it, then it should mean that the dream is worth something to that person. This is our motto “African child your dreams are worth a reality”, that is what we stand for, restoring the ability of an African child to dream, set goals and to accomplish those goals regardless of the circumstances they are under or what society dictates for them
